This course provides an overview of the Advanced Power virtualization features for the System p5. Then different configurations for the Virtual Ethernet LAN’s and the Virtual SCSI disks are discussed. Specific exercises give the students the chance to implement a dual Virtual I/O servers configuration, and test the features like the Network Interface backup, the “Shared Ethernet Adapter failover feature” and MPIO in the client partitions.
Students must have basic system administration experience with AIX 5L. This prerequisite may be met by attending one of the following classes or students may have equivalent AIX skills.
